If I were going to sell highly desirable widgets, I would look for products that are desired or needed by the general population. I would acquire them competitively and build a detailed catalog and I would advertise both the catalog brand name and the products by using tools to submit or post classified ads free.

Isn't it logical that if I dreamed up an Internet Home Based Business that I could advertise it this way as well? What if I placed several different Affiliate Programs into a package (a Catalog) and advertised it also? Yes and No. If you post classified ads free advertising a desirable widget, it becomes simply a matter of competitive price and whether or not you have been around the Internet long enough for people to feel secure enough to buy from you.

There are two issues here, the product and your Brand Name or your catalog or company name. Products that are sold on EBay have a seller ranking system that is related to the number of items that they have sold. In this instance, the product can be compared to other people's products as there are detailed specifications for these specific widgets, the comparison being only a matter of competitive price. The Name Branding on eBay is largely based upon the score card, so lets move to Craig's list to be more similar to our situation where there is no formal scorecard (outside of SEO issues). On this list, the Name Branding issues for widget sellers and Internet business sellers are roughly equal, but the product, in this case will control, as all of the sellers are relatively unknown.

The widget seller post's classified ads free emphasizing the product, not their Brand Name, because competition for the widgets which are all basically the same no matter who is selling them are driven by the price.

What is wrong then about an Internet Home Based Business owner desiring to compete for dollars on the internet who post's a classified ad free advertising their Business package? Every thing is wrong with it. In the first place, there are no comparable Business Widgets. The specifications are totally unknown. All claims about the Business product are hearsay and on top of that, like the Craig's list seller, the seller is also an unknown quantity! Go figure.

For any internet home based business owner, the important single most items to build upon is your Name. If everybody in the Internet Home Based Business Community considered you a valuable resource, would your phone ring? Of course it would, and your opinions would be acted upon as well. You and your Brand Name would be in heavy demand. You can start to build your Brand Name by posting classified ads free to give away free valuable information, and you can capture high quality premium home based business leads in the process. In this process be sure to have your name as one of the keywords in the classified Ad submission process.

Use free or paid classified ads to offer free tools, or to advertise your Blog which hopefully is full of useful information for people lusting for information, people who are lost and are looking for help and guidance.

The point here is that nothing in a classified ad will make your particular classified ads rise to the top of any other, so you are competing with everyone else for nothing gained. The main point of this article is that, in my opinion, Name Branding will do you far better in helping your Internet home based business than will advertising your business directly. Advertising an Internet Home Based Business, hoping to stand out in the crowd is about as effective as buying supposedly high quality free premium email leads. Bunk. The principles discussed here regarding posting classified ads applies across the board to anything that you post on the internet, personal web pages, blogs, articles, ezine posts, traffic exchanges; EVERYTHING THAT YOU POST. Give useful information rather than a promoter to build name branding.
